Not every idea you're excited about is a pain worth building for. Here's how we tell the difference.

When we're validating a problem, we look for 5 signals:

  • Severity: if they don't fix it, something bad happens: lost time, lost money, lost reputation.

  • Frequency: it's not occasional. It shows up constantly.

  • Prevalence: it's not just one person's problem. A real chunk of the segment feels it.

  • No other option: they've already looked for a fix and came up empty.

  • Urgency: they need it solved today, not next quarter.

The more of these five show up, the more confident you can be that you're building toward something people will actually pay for.

What's helped you spot a real pain point vs. a "nice to have"?
